How to Care for your Wrap

Whilst we use the best materials on the market, the after care of your wrap is very important. Improper care can result in damage or premature deterioration of your wrap.
We have set out below cleaning and maintenance tips to ensure the longevity of your new wrap.

WASHING

HAND WASHING

You should NOT clean your wrap within the first 3 days after the wrap has been applied.

Hand washing is the safest and most gentle way to care for your new wrap. You should wash the boat reguarly, when it appears dirty, so as to avoid stubborn build up of dirt and grime.

PRE RINSE

Using a hose, rinse the entire wrap with clean water. DO NOT use a pressure washer for this step as it can cause damage to the wrap and cause it to lift.

WASH

Using mild soapy water and a soft sponge, gently wash the surface of the boat. Avoid harsh scrubbing.

RINSE & DRY

Rinse the boat thoroughly to remove the soap and allow the boat to dry. You may use a soft chamois to assist with drying.

You may wax your boat provided that the wax does not contain petroleum distillates, which is found in many paste waxes.

DIFFICULT SPOTS

Contaminants such as bird droppings, sap and bug splatter can be more difficult to remove. To assist in removal soak for several minutes with very hot, soapy water and rinse thoroughly.

STORAGE

You should store your boat under cover, wherever possible. Prolonged exposure to sun and the outdoor environment may resulting in expedited degradation of the wrap film.

At night, protect the boat from dew and rain. If undercover storage is not available, consider using a cover at night.

THINGS TO AVOID

You should avoid the following:

  • Pressure washers.
  • Brushes – They may scratch the surface of the wrap and cause edges to lift or chip, as well as dull the films appearance.
  • Soap that includes strong soluble substances, alcohol or abrasive components.
  • Abrasive polishes or cutting compounds.
  • Harsh chemicals.
  • Acetone.
  • Wipe off any fuel spills IMMEDIATELY. Wash, rinse and dry as soon as possible.
